TRAFIC, Olivier Cablat 2011

TRAFIC is the 9th chapter of the documentary project called COMMERCIAL and directed by Olivier Cablat for 10 years.
TRAFIC deals with thematic garden's sculptures on sale in commercial areas, as an archive of our collective cultural history.
Multi thematic references are here presented in the same space without any hierarchical organisation.

Lagos shake

Lagos shake - a Tony Allen chop up (Hones Jon's records)

The London based music label Honest Jon's Records, produced in 2008 this compilation as a tribute to Tony Allen, the legendary drummer of Fela Kuti.
The front cover use a picture of Pieter HUGO issued from his incredible series "The hyena & other men" (2007), without any other information printed on it.

More Cooning With Cooners arose out of a discovery of a series of anonymous Kodachrome photographs documenting one family’s 1960′s Raccoon hunting adventures in Ohio, USA.
The book was edited by Kalev ERICKSON for The Archive of Modern Conflict Books (London).

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy

Sometimes a detail can obsess you for many years and never be remarked by anyone else.
Nicolas Giraud was impressed by the phrase type-written by Jack Nicholson all along the movie SHINING, directed by Stanley Kubrik.
This type-writen phrase became the starting point of a project that Nicolas Giraud led for many years. He created then all the variations possible by typing himself the phrase.
The paroxism of the project is reached at page 80 of the book project, when the text became a portrait.

Introducing Philippe Spigolon

Philippe Spigolon realizes many series of pictures from his close surrounding, around the city of Albi, in the deep west-south of France.

There will be presented at HYPErmarkt an extract of "Gîte de France", a selection of pictures taken inside these 60's style places usually rent in the deep countryside for a couple of days.
